A.K.A. Winnipeg.
That's where I am right now. We were supposed to be going to Kenora ON, but the weather was so poor that we were unable to continue on to there. So we stopped here in Winnipeg and our clients took a rental car the rest of the way (about a 3hr drice).
So this is the trip I got put on instead of my Vancouver layover.... Did I mention that I'm here for 5 days!!! Right thru new years. The story doesn't end there... My captain, like many others in the company is starting to get sick... So he flew home and they plan to fly another captain here on sunday. So I'm all by myself, stuck in winnipeg, which by the way is in the middle of a blizzard!
So I'm here in the hotel... Waiting out the storm, but waiting for my pizza to be delivered.
And by the way, I'm posting this via my blackberry... Is there anything this thing can't do?!
Oh.. Pizza just arrived.. Time to eat, and this hotel I'm in is freaking amazing... My room is "fully loaded"!

well, it's great to know you got to see your family, even for only less than an hour. Hope you had a memorable new years. The trip to Sy's cabin was great. Remind one of us to tell you about it sometime - too many damn funny moments. By the way, i was even able to sucker Sy into "giving" me most of his poker chips - it was too good. I think i may be getting better at the game.
Anyways, hope to see you sometime this year if you can get a stop here.

Yeah it was a pretty nice Hotel. Mind you after 5 days I was starting to get a little bit stir crazy from not being able to go anywhere. There was snow everywhere. Couple of big blizzards hit while I was there.
Yes, I will have to hear more about your guys' New Year's trip.. glad to hear you all survived though!
